Trainee laser therapist position available

Qualifications you need to join our team

As we are using medical grade lasers you will need the following qualifications, ITEC, Cibtac, CIDESCO or equivalent qualification. 

As this is a junior position, you will  need a minimum of 12  months experience in the beauty industry.  Full training will be provided by us in our Dublin city centre clinic.

What can you expect working with us?

• Extensive training and ongoing support 

We use Medical grade 4 lasers in our clinic so proper training for new trainees is essential. We have a full training plan for therapists who are completely new to this treatment. We will provide both theory and practical training. All practical training will be fully supervised and supported. Results from our lasers are beyond comparison but only when you have been fully trained to use them properly. 

Our extensive training programme will ensure you are confident to treat all skin and hair types safely. You will gain skills to fully implement and follow a complete treatment plan from start to finish. Our ongoing support also helps you navigate through this learning period and beyond which will ensure you always have advice on hand when you need it. 

• Full time set hours every week 

Our therapists are guaranteed their full working hours every week. Being sent home early from work because we have no appointments is something you don’t need to worry about here. We appreciate that everyone needs a set weekly wage to live and we are committed to providing this to all of our staff. 

• Hours that facilitate a work/life balance

Weekends off in the beauty industry can be rare but not here, with our roster you will have 1 out of 3 weekends off. We work a 4 day week so you will have a full 3 days off a week, every week. 

• Rolling 3 week roster that doesn’t change

Our work roster is set and doesn’t change so you can plan your life months ahead. Your schedule will be set and will simply repeat every 3 weeks so you know exactly where you stand with your time off. This helps our staff plan appointments, schedule holidays, and commit to social occasions without any stress. 

• 1 treatment with 1 focus 

Our sole focus here at Urbana is removing hair, by just doing one treatment our therapists are able to give their full attention to each treatment. If you are completely new to laser this can be extremely beneficial as it will allow you to get good at laser really fast because you will be focusing on it every day. It can be tiring and frustrating to move from doing facials to massage to nails etc. but here we work in a calm and controlled way so your days flows. Each one of our therapists work in a designated treatment room so they have control over their day. This allows for a seamless working day where they can perform each treatment in a very considered way. 

• Well organised and seamless systems 

We have very streamlined procedures and processes in place to ensure a smooth working day for all of our staff. Being new to laser the more organised you are the better your day will be, working in this environment will help you while you are in this learning stage. Each staff member has access to their own individual laptop for planning and note taking. This allows you to plan your day in advance so that it runs smoothly. 

• Salary and commission

We offer an excellent salary and commission package (€26,000 – €32,000pa + commission/bonuses) depending on your experience. 

• Working conditions with your wellbeing in mind 

Our treatment rooms are designed with therapists in mind. Our treatment couches are positions so you don’t have to stretch over clients all day during your treatments. Our rooms have state of the art air conditioning systems that deliver fresh air into our treatment rooms every few minutes.  Lasers can generate a lot of heat as they are working so this helps keep our rooms cool while you are working. We have designed our salon to feel more like a spa than a laser clinic, our surroundings are beautifully designed so you feel calm and relaxed during your working day.

• Providing laser hair removal treatments in a professional, caring and timely manner. 
• Recording and updating clients notes daily paying special attention to the finer details.
• Ensuring all treatments are delivered in a safe and effective way by following our protocols. 
• Making sure treatments are performed to a high standard so that clients see the most effective results. 
• Building and maintaining client relationships. 
• Helping and supporting your team members to ensure a positive working environment. 
• Participating in our team to help ensure the wellbeing of your colleagues and clients alike.

Other Salary Information

Wages are paid weekly. 

Commission/bonuses are separate from wages. We measure performance using certain KPI’s (Key performance indicators). Commissions and bonuses are calculated based upon these. All targets are very achievable and support is given on a weekly basis to help you achieve these goals.
